Book & Film Club – Color of Autumn
Sunday, February 4, 2024
4 to 5 p.m. Eastern (1 to 2 p.m. Pacific)
Please join us for a special screening of Color of Autumn, an independent film created and produced by a stellar team, including several Summiteers.
The film is adapted from a short story by Chicago writer and social justice arts practitioner Constance Nicole Frierson, and directed by award winner Aimiende Negbenebor Sela.
Color of Autumn is set in 1966 Chicago and tells the story of a sheltered Black eight-year-old girl growing up on the South Side. The film sparks important conversations about racism, loss of innocence, Black masculinity, peer pressure and hate speech.
The film has garnered significant attention in several prominent film festivals, and now it will be featured in a special one-hour event Story Summit event. Please join us for a screening of the film and a Q&A with the writer and director facilitated by Executive Producer Pamela Weiss.
