David Kirkpatrick, most notably, was the President of Paramount Pictures and the Production President of Walt Disney Studios. He started as a writer, selling his first script to Paramount at 16. He became story editor at Paramount at 25. Over his long career, David has worked on over 200 motion pictures starting with ideas and seeing them through to successful production, marketing, and distribution. He has worked on such recognizable global franchises as Indiana Jones, and Star Trek. He has worked on countless Academy Award winning movies including Ordinary People, Elephant Man, and developed the movie that became Forest Gump. David is a believer in giving back, wanting to inspire and equip the writers of tomorrow, believing fiction is an underutilized tool that can help build a better world.
David shows us how storytelling is at the very root of what makes us uniquely human. It is how we share our experiences, learn from our past, and imagine our future. He inspires us all.
