About the Event

Please join us for a special Story Summit Book & Film Club Table Read featuring writer Naz Pankey and her incredible vertical film My Husband's Escape Plan.

Pam Kirk McCarty is an accomplished grief counselor, author, educator, and speaker from Jackson, Tennessee. After a long and distinguished career with The University of Memphis and the Jackson-Madison County School System, she is now retired from teaching.

During this session, Pam will join us for an intimate evening conversation about the deeply personal journey of writing from loss, the courage it takes to transform grief into story, and what it truly means to show up honestly on the page. She'll share her creative process, the emotional terrain she navigated while writing Grace for Grief, and what she discovered about voice, vulnerability, and the quiet power of lived experience. We'll also explore what it looks like to write for an audience who is hurting, how compassion and authenticity shape every word, and why telling the hardest stories can become an act of profound connection.

You can buy Pam's book here:

We're pleased to present this special free event as part of our Story Summit Book & Film Club, celebrating Summiteers and their writing.
