About the Event
Please join us for a special Story Summit Book & Film Club Table Read featuring writer Naz Pankey and her incredible vertical film My Husband's Escape Plan.
Nadira “Naz” Pankey is a writer, filmmaker, and storyteller from the Bronx whose work is rooted in truth, resilience, and imagination. She creates stories that reach beyond entertainment—stories that touch the human soul, spark empathy, and invite audiences to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Whether on the page or on the screen, her mission is to open hearts, broaden perspectives, and remind us of our shared humanity.

During this session, Naz will join us for an intimate evening conversation about the journey from vertical idea to production, the rapidly evolving world of vertical storytelling, and what it truly takes to stay the course as a writer in today's industry. She'll share her creative process, the challenges and discoveries she encountered along the way, and what she learned while crafting a story for the vertical format, from structure and pacing to character and emotional impact. We'll also explore the emotional realities of breaking through, and how perseverance, voice, and community can open unexpected doors.
We're pleased to present this special free event as part of our Story Summit Book & Film Club, celebrating Summiteers and their writing.
This event is free. Please register for the Zoom link.
