Book and Film Club Table Read - The 12 Daves of Christmas

Please join us for a special Story Summit Book & Film Club Table Read featuring writer Missy Baker and her delightful holiday romantic comedy, The 12 Daves of Christmas.

Back in December, during our Lights, Action, Christmas class, Missy pitched a title and logline that instantly lit up the room:

A psychic predicts Evie will meet her soulmate before she turns 30—and his name is Dave. With her Christmas birthday fast approaching, she races to date as many Daves as possible to find the one.

Missy Baker spent eight years as the head writer at Someecards and continues to ghostwrite comedy punch-ups for scripts, so she knows exactly how to land a joke. She shared this project during class with Kristin Hopkins of Motion Picture Corporation of America—the company behind high-concept comedies like Mother of the Bride and The Housewives of the North Pole—and the response was immediate: Kristin would love to read the script.

Join us as Missy’s comedian friends perform a live table read of the script for the very first time. This is a rare opportunity to experience a story in its earliest stage, hear what lands, and be part of the creative process alongside fellow writers.

This lively session will include laughter, insight into Missy’s journey from idea to draft, and a behind-the-scenes look at how comedy works on the page and in performance.
