Please join us for a special Story Summit Book & Film Club Table Read featuring Author Siobhan Hartsell and her latest book, The Innkeeper's Wife.

Siobhan Hartsell writes historical fiction set in Gilded Age Chicago, bringing the untold stories of influential women to life through meticulous research and vivid storytelling. Her debut novel explores the life and legacy of Bertha Honoré Palmer. A volunteer docent with the Chicago Architecture Center, she draws on her deep knowledge of the city's history to enrich her fiction with authenticity and a strong sense of place.

During this session, Siobhan will join us for an intimate evening conversation about the creative imagination behind bringing The Innkeeper's Wife to life, and what it takes to transform the untold stories of influential women into vivid, page-turning fiction. She'll share her creative process, the historical detective work that shaped the book, and what she discovered about voice, authenticity, and giving a real historical figure like Bertha Honoré Palmer her due on the page. We'll also explore what it looks like to write for readers hungry for untold history, how her work as a volunteer docent with the Chicago Architecture Center deepened her sense of place, and why telling the stories of women written out of history can become an act of powerful reclamation.
