About the Event

In this Lunch and Learn on Copyright for Writers, Amy M. Cohen, a Southern California attorney with more than 25 years of experience in copyright and trademark, entertainment law, business transactions, and litigation, will give writers a practical introduction to copyright and how it applies to their creative work. Drawing on her extensive background representing entertainment professionals, Amy will walk through the fundamentals writers need to know for protecting their work and navigating copyright issues.

Together, participants will explore the basics of copyright, including what it protects, when and how writers should consider registering their work, and how copyright registration differs from other forms of protection, such as WGA registration. Amy will also address common questions writers have about safeguarding scripts, stories, and other creative works, so participants leave with a clearer sense of their rights and how to protect them.
