Brainstorm a love story that will sweep readers off their feet. In this one-hour session, we’ll touch on the tenets of the genre and learn how romance and conflict can BOTH exist in a story. We’ll discuss how to use romantic tropes and create characters who are primed to fall in love, giving romance readers exactly what they want: a happy ever after.
Participants will learn:
What makes your story a romance?
Which “heat level” is appropriate for your story and voice?
How can tropes best be used in genre romance?
How can you write an effective yet original “meet-cute” to bring characters together?
Where should conflict occur in the love story, and why is it a MUST?
What is the third-act breakup, and how can you stick the landing of a happy ever after?
