Sundays With Amy
June 12, July 10, August 7, 2022
4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pacific)
Intimate conversations, bold and audacious questions, sharing a story or two or three or … five.
Once a month, for 90 minutes on a Sunday evening, Amy Ferris will sit down with her friends for lively, enlightening conversations. Talking shop, talking love, talking creativity, talking… about all and everything.
She'll be asking Peter Spears how he felt winning the Oscar for Best Picture (2021) for his movie Nomadland and what he's working on now and what he looks for in scripts and books to develop.
She’ll be asking Peter Werner if he always wanted to be a director and what it’s like working creatively with writers, the journey from a script to the screen. Having won an Academy Award for his short film Region of Ice, based on a short story by Joyce Carol Oates and numerous nominations for TV movies and series, they will talk about his long career and the power of collaboration.
She'll be talking about producing scripted television vs. live television—talk shows—with Mary Connelly, who has won 21 Emmys—TWENTY-ONE—for executive producing the series Mad About You and The Ellen (DeGeneres) Talk Show and Late Night with David Letterman. Mary will share some secrets and tips about writing for talk shows, what it's like to be in a writers’ room and what’s in store for her.
We all wanna know: What is it like being the business partner with the ICON known as Jennifer Lopez? Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas will sit down with Amy to get down and dirty. Elaine started as an agent and is now one of the most powerful women in Hollywood, and…she's kind and generous and loves women's stories.
Those are just a few friends who will share a Sunday evening with Amy. And yes, there will be a few surprises… can anyone say: Ms. Magazine 50th Anniversary?
Amy is delighted to present these conversations to raise money for our Diversity Scholarship. The registration is free, but your donation will raise awareness AND lives. If you would like to contribute, we have different levels set up on the registration page to make it simple.
This class is offered at no charge.
