Carole Kirschner is one of the entertainment industry’s most respected mentors to television writers and showrunners, known for shaping both careers and creative leaders.

Today, Carole serves as Director of the Writers Guild of America Showrunner Training Program — a position she has held for 17 years — where she trains senior writer-producers and emerging creators in the creative and leadership skills required to run successful television series.

Carole also created and leads the CBS Diversity Writers Mentoring Program, building one of the industry’s most respected pipelines for new voices while helping to launch the careers of dozens of television writers and future showrunners.

Earlier in her career, Carole rose to senior creative executive roles in network and studio television. She served as Vice President of Television at Amblin Television, working with Steven Spielberg’s company during its formative years, and later became Head of Comedy Development at CBS, where she oversaw prime-time programming and helped develop hit series.

Carole is also the author of Hollywood Game Plan, a practical and empowering guide to navigating the entertainment industry. Carole is known for demystifying Hollywood’s unwritten rules and equipping writers with the clarity, strategy, and the confidence needed to build lasting careers.
